The organic pollen from AgriSicilia – available in 120 gram pots – is produced in Sicily, mainly from spring blooms.

It contains pollen pellets that bees collect on the flowers and plants they visit. These are retained by special ‘traps’ placed at the hive entrance. Pollen is an excellent natural tonic and has an energising effect. It also strengthens the immune system and is rich in vitamins and minerals that are essential for the body’s well-being.

Organic pollen in brief

Organoleptic characteristics:

  • Physical state: spontaneous crystallisation, with very fine crystal grain.
  • Colour: from light to dark yellow, to brown, black and green.
  • Smell: vegetable-like. It may remind one of hay and straw.
  • Taste: Vegetable-like, with a more or less marked bitter note depending on the period of production and – therefore – the botanical species.
