The prickly pears used for this preserve come from the Etna D.O.P. area between Adrano, Belpasso and Paternò (Catania province). When they reach maturity, they are harvested and processed into jams to keep the organoleptic qualities of this incredible fruit intact.
The Etna prickly pear is a fragrant fruit with a very intense flavor. It is also healthy and nutritious: in fact, it has excellent antioxidant properties and is rich in vitamin C.
